The SCBA is offering a FREE COACHING CLINIC to parents of registered players.

The SCBA has always believed that if we can develop better, stronger SCBA coaches, we can deliver a superior experience and product to the kids who play baseball and softball.

Have you ever thought about coaching but didn’t think you were qualified enough?  Have you ever been on the fence about helping out but just needed that little nudge?  Have you ever sat in the stands saying to yourself, “if I were coaching in that situation, I would have done things differently?”  Have you ever wanted to impact a player’s life positively by giving him or her confidence and a true sense of “team?”

If you answered “Yes” to any of the questions above, the SCBA is here to help you make that leap from bleachers to dugout!  It’s not just about how much you know about baseball, it’s about the experience you deliver to the kids - and the way it’s delivered.  We can help.

The SCBA will be conducting a special free coaches clinic to share what we have learned over the years from personal experiences as well as feedback from coaches and former players.  Topics include:
  • Teaching fundamentals in a way that players understand, retain and respond to – they are kids, not minor league players!
  • Getting the most out of a 90-minute practice – it’s not about 9 kids watching one kid hit baseballs…
  • Creating a great team chemistry among players and parents – setting the tone
  • Making the most of “teachable moments” during a game – teaching lessons that will pay dividends later in the year
  • Cultivating a culture of success and accountability among the team – they may not be minor leaguers, but they can act like it
  • Exposing and dealing with your “coaching dark side” – how to deal with the Darth Vader in all of us!

There will be two different times you can attend this session:

Thursday, Feb. 7 from 6 – 7:45 PM at the Dorothy Lane Market Community Room
Saturday, Feb. 9 from 10 – 11:45 AM at the Dorothy Lane Market Community Room

Click here to register.  There is no charge to attend this event.

This clinic promises to be different from other baseball clinics.  It focuses on the things you won’t find in videos or read in books.  It’s from SCBA experiences, successes…and failures.  If you can take one or two useful pieces of information back to your team, you will improve the SCBA experience for the kids.

We hope to see you there!
